Small Bathroom? Use Bathroom tiles to create space!

I often thought that my tiny bathroom was inadequate. Its small size made me think that it was wrong both aesthetically and functionally. But a few simple bathroom tile ideas have changed my concept, and now I am extremely happy with the look of my bathroom.

I browsed the Internet and checked various online tile stores to discover new ways to make the most of my tiny bathroom and create an illusion of space. Space can easily be created with the help of plain tiles. Making use of neutral coloured tiles, such as white or cream will broaden the space with its brighter, lighter tones. Depending on the way you use it, both big and small tiles can bring about a difference. In order to avoid eyes being overwhelmed, keep grout lines small or near to invisible.

Another great way to create more space is by flaunting off more of your lovely tiled floor. This can be achieved by installing a wall mounted sink or floating cabinets.

In a limited spaced bathroom, be sure to avoid dark colours, as these can close in the space and make the room appear smaller than it really is. Light and neutral shades will automatically bring extra light to the bathroom, opening up the space. There are many fantastic colours available to suit your style and taste. White tiles are a fabulous option and will never go out of style. White complements every colour and any type of furniture or accessories. You can change your towels, washcloths and other bathroom accessories as often as you like with a white-tiled bathroom.

Implementing these simple steps gave me a fantastic end result. My white coloured bathroom tiles have created space in my bathroom and it looks amazing.

Reusing water

When Green Plumbing is the topic, often times water conservation and re-usability goes along with it. The best way to improve something is to first look at what you have and what is been wasted. That’s exactly the point of using "graywater" again-"reusing water".

Wastwater that has been used in clothes washing, showers, bathtubs, lavatory sinks, etc, is called Graywater. This water can be stored in proper tanks, even without treatment, and than can be pumped out for outside irrigation. Graywater can also be, with separate connections apart from the cold water line, connected to a toilet tank and used for flushing; of course, minimum treatment of graywater is necessary for this use but the savings are worth the effort. It must be noted, from this point on, toilet water (blackwater) cannot be the topic for "reusing water" and needes to be disposed off properly into OSST or community sewer.

Graywater is mostly stored inside of a building, so proper volume is built for "reusing water". It is recommended to keep the storage water time short to prevent anaerobic bacteria to produce methane and foul-smelling hydrogen sulfide; so, proper controls are in place in order to use graywater.

Even though the idea of "reusing water" is recognized, it must be mentioned that such graywater system is not permitted in all places; in Arizona, California, New Mexico, Massachusetts, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, and Savannah, Georgia graywater system is allowed. Montana, New York, Oregon, and Washington are four other states that are on schedule for statewide regulations, which do not come easy for whole-building graywater system and will, most likely, include lavatory wastewater into adjacent toilet for flushing only.

When installing graywater system into a structure, separate, dual, drainage piping must be installed for wastewater. Graywater collection and storage system itself must be marked off and be completely separate from portable water. Necessary strict supervision will be necessary to prevent mixing and contaminating fresh water supply.
Because of difficulty in finding proper expertise in the field to install "reusing water" system to the local regulations with a reasonable price, graywater system installation can be expensive and only installed when conservation of water is on the table, rather than financial return…

Countless Master Bathroom Remodeling Ideas

It’s not difficult to find master bathroom remodeling ideas; you can locate them in magazines and on the internet or watch home improvement shows for inspiration. When looking for master bathroom remodeling ideas there are three important things to take into account.

First of all, there’s no point looking at projects that cost twenty thousand dollars to implement if you only have one thousand dollars to spend, so look for ideas that are within your budget. You also need to think about the amount of space available in your bathroom. You might really want two sinks and a huge bathtub, but if you have limited space then you need to figure out the best way to make use of it. Perhaps the most important thing when it comes to master bathroom remodeling ideas is choosing something that suits you. You could design the most luxurious bathroom ever, but it would be pointless if you didn’t feel comfortable in there.

Your Budget

Obviously if you have a lot of money to spend, you can look at a wider range of master bathroom remodeling ideas. A bigger budget means you can afford to spend more on lavish extras such as under floor heating, skylights, an extra sink, ceramic tiles, cabinets, a granite counter top, or a claw foot bath.

Nevertheless, you can still do amazing things to a bathroom if you only have a modest amount of money at your disposal. Changing the color of the paint in a bathroom can transform the way it looks. Other touches such as new fixtures, cabinet handles, shelves, tiling, a few plush bath towels, a mirror, some wainscoting, rugs, a plant and some pretty accent pieces can convert an ordinary bathroom into an opulent haven.

Managing The Space

An exceptional master bathroom combines a first-rate use of available space with ingenious concepts. Therefore you should find master bathroom remodeling ideas that maximize the available square footage. This is especially important if you’re doing a small master bathroom remodel.

If you’re trying to create more space, consider placing the bath tub or shower in the corners in order to expand the bathroom so that it doesn’t feel cramped. Instead of adding extra cabinets, put alcoves in the walls to display accent pieces or store bath and body products. Consider having an extra window put in to add light and provide an uncluttered feeling, and perhaps add some vertical mirrors to give the illusion of more space.

You should also be very careful about the colors and patterns you choose. The best master bathroom remodeling ideas use muted colors and delicate patterns. When the eye focuses on a brash color or pattern it cannot see past it, and this makes the room appear even smaller than it really is.

Choosing The Theme

When perusing various master bathroom remodeling ideas it is important to choose something that reflects who you are. Some people prefer décor that is reminiscent of the past while other people like thing to have a more contemporary feel.

You could even choose to combine old with new, or create a bathroom with one main focal point while making everything else look understated. In the end it is definitely a matter of personal taste. Following the latest trends is less important than looking for something that feels right to you.
